Objective:To investigate the detection rate and clinical value of fetal cardiac mild anomalies in the second-trimester.
Method:8613 fetal hearts were examined by routine obstetric sonography in the second-trimester.The types and numbers of cardiac mild anomalies were recorded, specially attentive to combined intracardiac and extracardiac malformations. Some cases were repeatedly examed by Echocardiography in the third-trimester or after birth.
Results:538(6.25%)cases with cardiac mild anomalies were detected,in which 452(5.25%)of intracardiac echogenic focus,42(0.49%)of mild atrioventricular valve regurgitation,38(0.45%)of transient arrhythmias,6(0.07%)of atrial septal aneurysm. The observation demonstrated that most of fetal cardiac mild anomalies were not associated with structural or functional changes and could recover in the third trimester or after birth.Only a few cases were associated with structural malformations or choromosomal disorders.
