ABSTRACT Objective: To explore relationship between configuration and function of left ventricle and microalbuminuria in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: According to urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER), 26patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus excluded hypertension, coronary artery disease and other kidney diseases were divided into two groups.11patients were in normal albuminuria (NA) group(UAER<20mg) and 15 patients were in microalbuminuria (MA) group (UAER20~200mg). Left ventricular configuration and function of all patients were examined by color Doppler echocardiography. Results: Compared MA group with NA group ,left ventricular wall thickness and left ventricular mass increased significantly(p<0.05). Parameters of left ventricular diastolic function(E, A, E/A, IVRT)changed significantly, while parameters of left ventricular systolic function(SV, EF, FS, PEP/LVET) did not change apparently. Conclusion: Left ventricular configuration and function in type 2 diabetic patients with MA were more involved than those in type 2 diabetic patients without MA. Key Words: Type 2 diabetes mellitus; Microalbuminuria; Left ventricular function. |
