Abstract
Objective:Transesophageal echocardiographic (TEE) observation of left atrial appendage (LAA) stunning after conversion of non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
Methods:In 17 cases of non-valvular atrial fibrillation, multiplanar TEE was used to measure post-conversion blood flow frequency spectrum; LAA peak evacuation velocity (LAA-PEV) before conversion ,24h and 1 week after conversion ,and peri-conversion left atrial spontaneous echo contrast (SEC).
Results:① LAA blood flow frequency spectrum became of sinus rhythm model after conversion .② LAA-PEV was66.4±12.5cm/s1week after conversion ,with the latter being basically appeared in 3of 10 after conversion.
Conclusion:LAA was found to have stunning after conversion of atrial fibrillation ,and to restore normal function 1 week after conversion in this series of cased .
