Dagnosis of Solitary Pulmonary Nodules Using CT Volume Rendering:a preliminary report

Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the value of volume rendering technique(VR)in diagnosis of solitary pulmonary nodules(SPN).
Methods:Thirty-two peripheral pulmonary cancer(PPC)and 30 non-PPC nodules which diameter was no more than 30mm were collected. The applying parameters of a multislice CT scanner were 1.0mm-collimation,1.3mm-slicethickness,0.6mm-interval,and 180~220mm FOV. VR were applied in every nodule.
Results:the most lesion of PPC and non-PPC nodules were round. Irregular in transaxial images but round in VR were only seen in 7 PPC. 16 PPC lesion with typical lobulation were shown multiple-nodule in VR,which was not seen in non-PPC. The occurrency rate of lobulation,spiculation,convergence,and pleural indentation in PPC were more frequency than that in non-PPC.
Conclusion:VR could reveal the configuration characteristic of SPN and help its diagnosis.

随着CT技术的进步,小肺癌的研究已经相当深入,关于肺结节形态学诊断价值的研究也达到了一个较高水平。已有文献确认HRCT和CT靶扫描有助于肺结节尤其小结节的细节影像显示,帮助提高诊断准确率[1,2],多层面重建(multiple planar reconstruction,MPR)和三维表面遮盖显示(three dimensional surface shaded display,3D-SSD)图像对肺癌的诊断价值也得到了人们的肯定,主要在于显示肺结节形态、分叶、毛刺,以及肺癌与肺血管、胸膜、纵隔(包括纵隔内淋巴结)等的关系[3~6];容积显示(volume rendering,VR)是一种不同于SSD的三维图像技术,近年才得到较大发展,特点是提供具有密度层次、三维空间关系的伪彩影像,本研究拟讨论其在孤立肺结节(solitary pulmonary nodules,SPN)诊断中的价值。 |
