Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical applications of four different oral contrast agents(water, air, lipid emulsion and positive contrast agent)in multislice spiral CT imaging technique of gastric carcinoma.
Methods:104 patients with gastric carcinoma comfirmed pathologically underwent multislice spiral CT (MSCT) scan using four different oral contrast agents . The imaging quality between four different oral contrast agents was analysed and compared.
Results:The accurate diagnostic rate was all 100%. There was no statistical significant difference for sensitivity of the gross appearance in advanced gastric carcinoma in 4 groups (χ2=9.13,P>0.05). The accuracy of categorizing in 4 group s was also no statistical significant difference (χ2=2.72,P>0.05) . In the image quality, there was no statistically significant difference in the satisifaction of adequate gastric distention and capability of showing the ditails of gastric lesions (χ2=3.53 and 5.8,P>0.05). But there was statistical significant difference in layering structure of gastric wall and artifacts (χ2=12.4 and 10.79,P<0.05). No statistically significant difference was found in imaging quality between air, lipid emulsion and water contrast agents, but the imaging quality of positive contrast agent was lower than that of water. In 3D CT images, air was more excellent than positive contrast agents. |
